Sizzling Sweetfire Baked Tofu

Baked crispy tofu with a sweet honey and sriracha glaze. Serve this for a quick healthy dinner over brown rice and a side of fresh steamed broccoli.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients 

  • 1 Package Firm Tofu
  • 1.5 tbsp Cornstarch (divided)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • Cooking Spray
  • 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha Sauce
  • 1 Scallion Chopped for Garnish

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Place the block of firm tofu in the tofu press. Keep pressed for about 10-15 minutes until drained. See the note below if you do not have a tofu press.
  • Next, slice the tofu into 1-inch cubes and add to a ziplock bag with cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Gently shake the bag, place it on a lightly sprayed baking sheet evenly and do not touch other pieces.
  • Then, bake the tofu for 15 minutes and then flip the tofu and bake for 15 minutes more.
  • Together, whisk in small bowl the soy sauce, sriracha, honey and 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch pour over the baked tofu.
  • Then, warm the sauce on the stove until evenly coated.

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 large Saute Pan
  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Tofu Press, You can use a heavy lid from a pot.

Notes

If you don’t have a tofu press, then use a heavy lid or cutting board and apply pressure for about 15 minutes.
