Ingredients
- 1 Cup Flour, All Purpose Flour or Bread Flour
- 1 Cup Cottage Cheese, Recommended brand is Good Culture Cottage Cheese
- 1.5 TSP Baking Powder
- 1/2 TSP Kosher Salt
- 1 Egg (for egg wash)
- Everything bagel seasoning (or salt, sesame seeds, or your preferred topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cottage cheese, baking powder, and salt. Stir until everything is well combined.
- Once mixed, knead the dough on a floured surface for about 2-3 minutes until it’s smooth and slightly elastic.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and then create a hole in the center with your finger to form a bagel shape.
- Brush each bagel with a light egg wash (just beat the egg and apply with a pastry brush) to give them a golden finish.
- Sprinkle with toppings of your choice! You can use Everything Bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or a pinch of salt for extra flavor.
- Place the bagels on the prepared baking sheet and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Cool and enjoy! Serve them warm with your favorite spread or just as they are—protein-packed and delicious!
